Filipino-Chinese Bakers' Association Bakery Fair 2009

Today is my birthday.

This year, I took a break from baking my own birthday cake.

Instead, I went to the Filipino-Chinese Bakers' Association, Inc. (FCBAI) Bakery Fair 2009.

The Bakery Fair is held once every two years and brings together all the major ingredient and equipment suppliers in the country.

I asked around for a new, bigger and more powerful cake mixer. I am setting my sights on one with a capacity in the range of 8 to 12 quarts.

I intend to purchase this new mixer using proceeds from the sale of my back-up KitchenAid Classic 4.5-quart tilt-head mixer (Model K45SS) and some other kitchen appliances that have remained unused. Watch out for those items as I will post them here for sale as soon as I take some decent product shots.

I also found these very pretty wedding cakes on exhibit. Just take a look at these beauties:

One can't help but admire the skill and creativity of these pastry chefs and bakers. Truly inspiring.

To FCBAI, thank you for hosting this event and for keeping admission free.

To the pastry chefs and bakers, keep on baking and stay sweet!
